Sai Baba provided food
Once I was traveling in the hot sun in Trunk Road about 23 miles away from Madras. I was hungry since I did not eat and my thought went to Sai Baba. I had blind faith in Him and was carrying the book Devotees Experience Part I with me. I came across a village on way and met the villagers who at once provided sumptuous meals in one of the houses. The owner of the house invited me to stay for the night too. But I took leave of him and left the place with the object of reaching Kanjeevaram, about 16 miles from that place. I was walking from morning 6 am to 12 noon. And again I resumed my journey at 3 PM. With faith in Baba I slowly walked on about 10 miles. Here I came across the place where I should leave the main trunk road and take a narrow foot path to Kanjeevaram. It was 6 PM and I did not know the route. I walked for some distance in the beginning hoping to find any person to direct me on to the right path. I prayed to Sai Baba and walked ahead for a while. Then I perceived a person (It must have been Sai Baba) walking ahead of me at a very great distance. Some how I managed to catch him by walking briskly. I was quite tired walking for about 25 miles that day. On account of him the stranger I was able to reach Kanjeevaram. I had no relations in Kanjeevaram and I was a total stranger.
I mentioned to the person, that there was a friend of mine who was staying there for summer belonging to a family from Karachi. At once he located his house and I was taken to my friend. Unless that guide is Baba, who can find a person, if merely told that the person was a boy of 17 years staying in his uncle’s house and that uncle was a man from Karachi, without giving names in the city, like Kanjeevaram?
But for this mysterious person’s help I would have stopped that night somewhere in a grove in the food path without food etc, leading to endless suffering. Baba is so kind that he cannot bear to see his children suffering.

“I am the slave of those who hunger and thirst after me and everything else as unimportant”
Experience of a North Indian Judge
In August 1916, I lost my first son aged two years. When the child was in the womb and when my wife and I went for His Darshan Sai Baba said, ‘ You have one of my gifts with you’. Later, when we took the child, Baba caressed it and said, “is he mine or yours?’
‘Yours’ I replied.
Baba then said. ‘Keep him with you, as a charge from me.’ A year and half later, the child got pneumonia and just when the doctors thought the danger was over, he started sinking. I took the child to the prayer room and prayed to Baba that since the child was His, He may take it away and give the soul a rest in Him, and that having given it, its worldly existence, I would undertake the responsibility for its ‘Karma’. I put my palm on the head of the child. There was a smile on the face, a last gasp; and the crown of the head was drawn in with a hiss – the child going in the real way like a yogi.
A couple of months later I was at Shirdi. One afternoon Baba pointing to me asked. “Who is he and where does he live? People who knew me gave my name and mentioned the place where I lived. “You are wrong” said Sai Baba. “He is always here and I am with him.”
Has he any children? asked Baba next. The reply by others was that my child had died recently. “Dead!” Baba said “No I shall tell you what happened. The child was mine and this man (pointing to me) agreed to keep it. One day, he said, “You keep him with you and I shall take up his ‘Karma’. I took him and kept him here (pointing to His heart) and he shall be there eternally.

Faith makes life easy
Sai Baba induced faith in us by making our paths easy and giving us feeling of security. His presence makes one feel relaxed. Since five months I have come in touch with the name of ‘Shri Sai Baba.’ In my humble way, I am worshipping Him. He inspires from the Tomb His devotees and guides them. One has to understand Him as being within him such thought makes one feel divine in self. On May 13th, 1941, I had been to Madras with a friend of mine well versed in Sastras. [i] We both planned a trip to Tirumala and planned to climb the seven hills on foot. On 14th May 1941 my friend had high fever and feared lest he should not ascend the seven hills. At that time, I gave him ‘Sai Baba Udi’ with faith to pacify him and prayed to Baba and Lord Venkateshwara. My friend was requested by me to have faith on Baba’s Udi. We climbed the hills by grace of Sri Sai Baba and Lord Venkateshwara. This incident made my friend also a Sai Baba devotee and he too started praying to Baba.
I had been to Holy Shirdi during the last week of May, worshipped the Tomb of Sai Baba. For two days, I observed fasting living on milk and buttermilk. One night I saw ‘Sai Baba’ drinking only a cup of milk, the love of Sai Baba for His devotees marks this dream of mine. I had an intimate talk with Sri Abdul Baba and Sagun Meru Naik both who were blessed to be with Baba during his physical presence in Shirdi. They narrated to me many incidents during Sai Baba’s period which confirmed my belief on the great spiritual powers of Sri Sai Baba.

“Why fear when I am here?”
I tested Baba’s word
In December 1940, my daughter brought home Baba’s photo. My children made it a ritual to worship Baba with flowers and sweets. For kids, it was like a hobby for the sake of eating sweets every day. However, for me I was apprehensive and watched every incident in our life keenly only to confirm if Baba kept up His word as said in His Charters. The presence of Baba through His photo was strong my daughter got married without difficulty. My son who was asthmatic, in poor health condition for the last 12 years passed his school exam. I tried all kind of medicines for him without much effect on his health condition. I prayed to Sai Baba to give more energy to my son and continue to shower his grace upon us.
Sri S.B.Kesaviah staunch devotee of Baba came to our home on 7th April 1941. He performed puja[i] and gave my son Udi[ii] of Baba. My son recovered and is able to take food three times a day and has grown to be a young energetic youth. Now our family relation with Baba has become a bond and we started doing puja regularly
My faith in Baba increased leaps and bounds I have begun to concentrate upon him for half an hour daily. I have improved mentally and physically my chronic Rheumatic ailment was healed. The relief that he gives is certainly a miracle which acts upon devotees.

“Those who think that Baba is only in Shirdi have totally failed to know me”
The shortest Leela ever written
Recently our ship was hit and damaged by enemy Bombers, in Middle east. What a Wonder. The magic spell of Sri Sai Baba’s presence saved us all. NO Casualty, not a drop of blood.

“I am in everything and beyond. I fill all space”
See me everywhere
The devout and staunch see God in every being and every place. This kind of faith develops them to be more evolved in good life. When a bark from a tree in our compound fell off and exposed the tree stem Ammu saw the figure on the tree resembled rather vaguely Shri Sai Baba.
Her view was shared by several others and we are now performing regular worship at the tree. Some of our neighbors also do so. Sai Baba can appear anywhere in any form as long as any of his devotees wish it to.
Gradually the figure faded and is not as clear as it used to be. I shall be watching it to be clear again and perhaps, who knows, one day, He may desire that it should be known that he has blessed our neighborhood with his visit in spirit, if not in form.
I shall not then delay to take a photo for the benefit and encouragement of His devotees in other parts of our country.
I wish to assure you that He has shown me His grace in many other ways and I am now in a more contended frame of mind than I have ever been before.
I wish that you receive His help and His mercy every moment of our life.
