A month Before Shri Sai Baba took Samadhi He started listening to ‘Rama Vijayam’ recited everyday by a devotee called Vaze. During this period, one evening when Baba went for walk, in masjid Mhalsapati, Kashi Ram Shimpi, as usual did abhishekam and puja to the brick Baba considered as His Guru’s gift and kept it beside the pillar near Dhuni. Madhav Fasle who was cleaning the masjid floor took the brick in his hand to dust and clean it; unfortunately, it fell off from his hand and broke. He was very scared that Baba would be angry on him, but Baba when He came back did not say anything but shed tears holding it and said, ‘it is not brick which is broken but My fate, My life, My soul that has broken into pieces, and with its help I did penance. Now I will not be alive for long’. Booty suggested that he would bind the brick pieces with silver wire, but Baba did not agree to it. on Vijaya Dashami day Baba was very weak. Still He regarded all His devotees who came to visit Him.
“I think it must be the year 1918 and Navaratri days because Baba took his mahasamadhi on Vijayadashmi day seven days after granting Mukti to ailing Tiger. Baba had become very old and He would walk with the help of two devotees one on each side of Him”.
